Coverage under AffordaShare also includes:

• Free access to a Tele-Doc service 24 hours a day for 365 days of the year
• Annual “Flex Pay” money that can be used for a variety of health and fitness-related costs like gym memberships, fitness trackers, bandages, over the counter medication, and more.
• Optional dental and vision benefits
• A $10,000 death benefit to help defray costs if a member passes away

To help keep costs low for all members, there are several conditions that AffordaShare does not cover. For example, drug and alcohol treatment are exempt from coverage as is long-term mental health counseling. Other procedures that are traditionally not covered by large health insurance companies are also excluded, including gender reassignment surgery.

How Does the Tele-Doc Service Work?

The free 24/7 Tele-Doc service is typically our members’ first choice when dealing with any kind of medical issue that’s not an emergency. The Tele-Doc can take care of a variety of ailments including minor burns, cuts, flu, urinary tract infections, pink eye, walking pneumonia, etc. 

All you have to do is call and set up an appointment, which can be held on the phone, via Facetime, or a through a teleconferencing app. The doctor will evaluate the situation then make recommendations regarding care including writing any necessary prescriptions. If the issue is more serious than originally thought, the doctor can then refer you to another provider. For any kind of emergency, you would bypass the Tele-Doc and head immediately to the hospital.  

Is There a Yearly Deductible? 

There is a member’s annual portion amount, which is similar to a yearly deductible. The annual portion is how much a member must pay each year if healthcare reaches beyond office visits and preventative care. This amount is set by members themselves, so you’re able to determine how much you think you can afford. If for some reason an emergency occurs and you’re unable to meet the amount you’re responsible for, don’t’ worry – you won’t be denied coverage. All you have to do is contact us to work out an interest-free payment plan and the necessary expenses will be covered. 

How Do I Enroll in Your Indiana Healthcare Ministry?

If you’re interested in enrolling in AffordaShare, the first step is to fill out the initial fact finder questionnaire. Just provide us with a few answers to some basic questions about your family members and their health histories, and we’ll offer you several quotes for membership. 

You may notice on the questionnaire that there are no inquiries regarding religion; while many of our members are professing Christians, it’s not a requirement for membership. We just ask that members engage in a healthy lifestyle and be willing to spread costs out to make healthcare more affordable for all members.
